MD Magazine: Children with both ADHD and autism face greater anxiety risk

Children with both attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) face an increased risk for conditions that affect mood and anxiety, according to research involving more than 3000 young people. “We newly recognized in this study that anxiety disorder and mood disorder, while very common in ASD, are even more common when children also have ADHD,” Eliza Gordon-Lipkin, MD, lead author of the study told MD Magazine.
